Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2014 03 24 – Numerous students in the faculty of geological sciences and engineering gather in the undergraduate lounge for free pizza before the 2014-2015 Miller Club executive elections.  Next year’s executives are: President Eric Jaczkowski , Treasurer Olivia Park, VP ArtSci Jessica Andrew and VP ENG Frank Hung.

2014 03 25 – Students wait in the Tim Hortons line at the John Deutsch University Centre; the newest of the three on campus, which opened in the summer of 2012. Today I won a drink on RRRoll Up The Rim To Win.

2014 03 26 – A Queen’s University student walks alongside Bader Lane with Stirling Hall, Victoria Hall and the Grey House (Left to Right) in the background as the sun sets on this beautiful clear day. This might be the last day we see daytime temperatures below zero?

2014 03 27 – Queen’s TV Executive Producer Travis Rhee films the Orientation 2013 Flag Unveiling Ceremony in the John Deutsch University Centre. Nick Francis, Robert Thomson and Ali Zahid creatively thought up this new tradition where by students and leaders sign a flag that will hang in the JDUC.

2014 03 28 – A student heads to class while carrying a Queen’s Tricolour umbrella on this mild day. In 1884 the Alma Mater Society president, along with the captains of both soccer and football chose the gold, blue and red to be the school’s colours.

2014 03 29 – Shayne Godin of Buffalo Tree (guitar/vocals) performs at the Earth Hour - Kingston Unplugged concert at Springer Market Square. 2014 03 30 – This beautiful euxenite crystal was collected from the Beryl Pit in Quadeville, Ontario this past summer. With a chemical formula (Y,Ca,Ce,U,Th)(Nb,Ta,Ti)2O6, euxenite is used for its rare earth elements.  (1.5cm x 2cm x 4cm)
