Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2014 Week 11 Photos

(41st Week Photographing Daily)

This week was a pretty wintery week, like most of the week’s this winter. With the second semester coming to an end many things are wrapping up, such as studying for final lab exams and switching over roles in clubs and jobs. Here are photos from this past week.

2014 03 10 – Queen’s geological sciences and engineering students examine air photos of a landslide area. GEOL/GEOE 333, Terrain Evaluation, examines terrain characteristic through air photo interpretation and geographical information systems (GIS). This is the first year GIS is incorporated into this course.

2014 03 11 – Jeremy, the 2013-14 President of the Queen’s Climbing Club makes a speech to members during elections for the incoming executive at the Brew Pub.

2014 03 12 – Students make their way along a pathway beside Miller Hall at Queen’s University during a blizzard. When the winds picked up it was sometimes impossible to see people walking 100 feet in front of you.

2014 03 13 – The railing along a stairwell in the Bioscience Complex at Queen’s University casts a unique shadow on the ground. The main class that this stairwell leads to seats 450 students.

2014 03 14 – Winds coming from the south and a frozen Cataraqui Bay made for a perfect surface for snow to blow across, creating white out conditions along Front Road. A car drives westbound, as another car disappears heading east.

2014 03 15 – A cricket sits on top of an egg carton inside a freshly cleaned container. These crickets are for my leopard gecko, Lizzy. There are many folklores and myths associated with crickets; one such myth is that they can predict rain.

2014 03 16 – A few people stand beside an ice yacht on Lake Ontario with Cedar Island in the background. The Kingston Ice Yacht Club formed in 1895.
