Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2017 09 18 – The Wolfe Island ferry is seen in the background as two paddle boarders enjoy the unusual late September warm weather. Dozens of people took advantaged of the still waters to go kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing.

2017 09 19 – A rough looking common starling (Sturnus vulgaris) wonders along the shoreline of Lake Ontario at Confederation Basin in downtown Kingston.

2017 09 20 – A fall coloured elm leaf rests on the drivers seat of a 26 passenger bus.

2017 09 21 – A cluster of shaggy scalycaps (Pholiota squarrosa) grows along the side of trail #4 at Parrott’s Bay Conservation Area west of Kingston.

2017 09 22 – A person pulls out a few Magic the Gathering cards from his collection in hopes to trade them for new cards being released this weekend. The front card, Patinum Emperion is going for around $20, as well as Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas.

2017 09 23 – A Queen’s Gael rugby player is tackled by players from the McMaster Marauders while playing a regular season game at Nixion Field in Kingston. McMaster defeated Queen’s 21-15.

2017 09 24 – A dinosaur token and an open Ixalan pre-release box sits on a table at SBT Comics in Kingston during the pre-release weekend event. Ixalan’s creatures consist mostly of dinosaurs, pirates, merfolks and vampires.  

Note: this photo was lost, almost missed being able to put one in for the day. I deleted the photos, then managed to salvage it with a recovery software!!

2017 09 11 – A photograph of myself sitting in the driver’s seat of a 26 passenger school bus north of Perth-Road-Village. I’m back driving the school bus for a few weeks before I leave.

2017 09 12 – A dead northern water snake (Nerodia sipedon) lies across Opinicon Road, north of Perth-Road-Village. This is a female snake and her young can be seen in front of her. Numerous water snakes are being killed on the road over these past few days.

2017 09 13 – A Papo model of Jurassic Park’s representation of a Velociraptor sits on top of an amethyst I collected from Thunder Bay. Velociraptors are more turkey size; the dinosaur in Jurassic Park is closer to a Deinonychus with respect to size.

2017 09 14 – While washing the dishes I decided to take some photographs, this is one of the weirder ones that came out.

2017 09 15 – This evening I decided to get some food from Copper Penny at the Bayridge Plaza. This is their lime- tequila chicken wrap; it was good but I didn’t taste any lime or tequila.

2017 09 16 – A Queen’s rugby player takes off with the ball after receiving it from another player being tackled in the foreground. Queen’s maintained control of the game defeating the Royal Military College, 62-0.

2017 09 17 – A model of Ryofu Housen, a fictional character from the TV show, Ikki Tousen; the show is based on high school fighters in a turf battle for the region.

2017 09 04 – Queen’s Gael’s quarterback, Nate Hobbs drops back for a pass during Monday’s OUA football game against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Gee-Gees Field in Ottawa. Queen’s lost to the Gee-Gees in the final minutes of the game, loosing 14-13.

2017 09 05 – A Queen’s University Orientation ArtSci leader (Gael) writes on the sidewalk alongside University Avenue in front of Grant Hall during the beginning of orientation week. Orientation week is an event-filled week to introduce new students to Queen’s campus.

2017 09 09 – Meghan and Pat laugh while enjoying an evening fire in Lansdowne, friends and family gathered to celebrate Lance’s 40th birthday.

2017 09 10 – A performer dances during the Viva Mexico portion of the 2017 Kingston Multicultural Festival. Numerous cultural groups performed throughout the day and ethnic food vendors were spread throughout Confederation Basin.

2017 08 28 – These are various tubs filled with amethyst recently collected east of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

2017 08 29 – One of two 3D chalk drawing in front of the Tourist Information Centre in downtown Kingston. The second piece of art is a rainforest landscape, both of which are designed to look like stamps.

2017 08 30 – Yeast activates in a small amount of water while making pizza dough. There are numerous species of yeasts. They are eukaryotes, single-celled microorganisms in the fungus kingdom.

2017 08 31 – The white berries of the doll’s-eyes or white baneberry (Actaea pachypoda) stand out amongst the forest floor. They are toxic to humans.

2017 09 01 – A few vines remain on the wall behind Camera Kingston after a crew removed most of the vines and the shrub that was against the back parking garage.

2017 09 02 – A great blue heron (Andrea Herodias) soars above the water surface at Elevator Bay off King Street. Blue heron younglings can typically fly after 60 days.
