Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2018 Week 01 Photos

2018 Week 01 Photographs
By Corey Lablans Photography
(32nd Week, Year 5 – 1680 days – 1 missed)

2018 01 01 – A truck is parked on one of the benches at the mine. In the background you can see the prevailing strike and dip of the metavolcanics, striking 121 degrees, dipping 50-70 degrees south.

(Nikon D7000 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f4 1/6400th I.S.O. 400)

2018 01 02 – A flat tire after driving around in the mine, this is pretty common. The tire went flat the other day and they plugged the hole, this time they just replaced it.

(Nikon D7000 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f4 1/250th I.S.O. 640)

2018 01 03 – A cumin encrusted chicken with paprika roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @35mm f7.1 1/25th I.S.O. 500)

2018 01 04 – Brown sugar, white sugar and butter mixed together, the first few ingredients towards making a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

(Nikon D7000 w Sigma manual 28 f2.8 @28mm f5 1/40th I.S.O. 400)

2018 01 05 – A hydro-line tower just before Fort Frances on Highway 11 is partially silhouetted as the sun begins to set. This is beside the Noden Causeway, which connects the east with Fort Frances. At one point it was part of Young Street, making the world’s longest road.

(Nikon D7000 w 70-200 f2.8 @120mm f5 1/1250th I.S.O. 400)

2018 01 06 – A Dominos pizza awaits consumption, as I have the kitchen table rigged up to edit photos and watch Deadwood.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @17mm f5 1/60th I.S.O. 400 w SB800)

2018 01 07 – This is a photograph of myself in our Emo, Ontario house that I have been living in for the past month. I have a few more weeks to live here and then I will be moving into a more permanent place.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @28mm f5 0.5sec. I.S.O. 200)
