Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2017 Week 43 Photos

2017 Week 43 Photographs
(22nd Week, Year 5 – 1610 days – 1 missed)
By Corey Lablans Photography

2017 10 23 – A series of uniquely designed clay faces are fastened to the guard rails along Oliver Street east of Balmoral Street in Thunder Bay. Most of them had coins as eyes and several were cracked, some missing half their face.

2017 10 24 – A photograph of myself going through the cards I have, trying to make a new standard deck. There are several formats, playing styles, for playing Magic: The Gathering. Standard is a format where players can only use cards from recent released sets, roughly a year and half worth of cards.

2017 10 25 – I am changing my friend’s flat tire with a tire that leaks slowly. It is better then having a completely flat tire and in a week he is having all of his tires changed to winter tires.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @17mm f8 1/250th I.S.O. 2000)

2017 10 26 – Griffon shuffles his Magic: The Gathering deck while playing in Thunder Games and Gifts Standard league. He recently got back into magic because of friends talking about Commander, another format (play style).

(Nikon D7000 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f2 1/640th I.S.O. 2000)

2017 10 27 – The first snow of the year in Thunder Bay falls while I take a self-portrait in a Danier leather jacket I picked up today.

(Nikon D7000 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f2 1/20th I.S.O. 400 w SB800)

2017 10 28 – Players looks through cards while partaking in one of this weekend’s special Dino-Sized draft events at Thunder Games and Gifts. Drafting typically involves three booster packs, while the Dino-Sized draft involves four.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @19mm f11 1/25th I.S.O. 2000)

2017 10 29 – An extra-large McDonalds coffee at Thunder Games and Gifts has had its Coast to Coast MONOPOLY pieces pulled off. The yearly event from McDonald runs from October 11th to November 13th.
