2017 04 03 – A beautiful sunrise paints the sky red and purple,
silhouetting trees off Coronation Boulevard west of Kingston. Sunrise on April
3rd was at 6:42 a.m..

2017 04 04 – These banana muffins are almost ready to be
taken out of the oven. I used a banana bread recipe from “The Pleasures of
Cooking; 1993; p552”, they turned out pretty well.

2017 04 05 – A Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia) at Lemoine Point Conservation Area clings to a
branch. There are 24 recognized subspecies.

2017 04 06 – Large puddles form in the back parking area
after a solid day of rain. Kingston had over 40 mm (1.57 in) of rainfall during
the day, with 33 mm (1.29 in) two days before.

2017 04 07 – Ken and Heather said their vows at noon on
the 3rd floor of City Hall, 10 years after proposing. It was a small
bridal party, simple and fun.

2017 04 08 – Scaffolding outside of a building on Brock Street casts
shadows across the sidewalk. Sockets in cave walls approximately 17,000 years
ago in Lascaux indicate the use of scaffolding to paint cave walls.

2017 04 09 – Military personal march along West Street
east of City Park in Kingston after the 100th anniversary ceremony
of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
Ceremonies were held across the country and at Vimy Ridge in France
honouring those who fought for freedom and peace. Over three days, April 9th,
1917 to April 12th, 1917, 3,598 Canadian lost their life, with
another 7,000 wounded.
