Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

(22nd Week, Year 4 – 1246 days – 1 missed)

2016 10 24 – Water is frozen in time as it splashes against the limestone rocks at MacDonald Memorial Park. The water temperature is around 12 degrees Celsius.

2016 10 25 – A Black-capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) holds onto a cedar branch (Genus: Cedrus) at Lemoine Point Conservation Area in Kingston’s west-end.

2016 10 26 – Beautiful yellow fall trees line 5 Field Company Lane as three students make their way between classes.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @25mm f8 1/1000th I.S.O. 400)

2016 10 27 – A dressed skeleton is lightly dusted in snow during Kingston’s first snowfall of the season.

2016 10 28 – Dylan stands along the side of a pond while hiking the Arkon Lake Loup in Frontenac Provincial Park; we took the Bufflehead Trail, cutting the hike from 11 to 8 kilometers.

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @32mm f4 1/1000th I.S.O. 400)

2016 10 29 – A relatively new colourful graffiti coats the wall inside a drive through alleyway behind Camera Kingston. It is interesting that society calls this type of art graffiti when the original word comes from the Italian word graffiato meaning, “scratched.”

(Nikon D7000 w 17-35 f2.8 @19mm f4 1/15th I.S.O. 400)

2016 10 30 – Candle light shines through various pumpkins carved for Halloween night. Sometimes referred to as a Jack-o’-lantern, the original meaning referred to a man carrying a lantern.
