Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2015 Week 08 Photos

2015 Week 08 Photos
By Corey Lablans Photography

(38th week, Year 2 – 630 days)

2015 02 16 – A house sits hidden behind some trees with Spanish moss south of Thibodaux, Louisiana. We stayed the night at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Thibodaux.
(Nikon D300 w 70-200 f2.8 @120mm f4 1/400th I.S.O. 200)

2015 02 17 - A girl flashes while attempting to get special flashing beads while on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras.  Throwing of trinkets started in the early 1870’s while on parade routes. This practice took on a new life when a few spring breakers took to Bourbon Street after parades. Since then it has grown into the spectacle many know, as a centre for partying and debauchery.
(Nikon D7000 w 28 manual f2.8 @28mm f4 1/100th I.S.O. 4000)

2015 02 18 – The Targa Venice Gas Plant is silhouetted against a beautiful setting sun. The plant receives its gas from the numerous offshore pipelines and gathering systems.
(Nikon D300 w 70-200 f2.8 @175mm f5 1/50th I.S.O. 500)

2015 02 19 – Johnathan, Robin, Heathyr and I enjoy the view of Trenton, Georgia from Lookout Mountain at the Cloudland Canyon State Park.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @17mm f6.3 1/640th I.S.O. 200)

2015 02 20 – The view from the back window of our motel room at the Relax Inn in Natural Bridge, Virginia. Across the highway is the Virginia Safari Park and in the background is one of the many mountains making up the Blue Ridge Mountains.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @35mm f8 1/1600th I.S.O. 200)

2015 02 21 – A homemade bruschetta pizza made with fresh plum tomatoes, onion, crushed garlic, fresh basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Boil the tomatoes for 15 seconds and the skin peels right off, making for an excellent bruschetta.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @28mm f4.5 1/60th I.S.O. 1250)

2015 02 22 – The red vest, cell phone and numerous keys make up the on-call gear while completing rounds on residence. Pretty quite as most students come back from Reading Week.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @20mm f3.5 1/60th I.S.O. 200 w SB800)
