Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2015 01 26 - A few notes sit on top of a map of the United States while planning a trip to Louisiana for Reading Week, our winter term break.

2015 01 27 – Queen’s Gaels take on UOIT Ridgebacks during a regular season Ontario University Athletics game at the Memorial Centre. Queen’s is currently ranked 6th just ahead of UOIT. After a close game, Queen’s ended up winning 6-4.

2015 01 28 – Students enjoy some pizza while attending a documentary screening of Chasing Ice presented by the Queen’s chapter of the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO).

2015 01 29 – Frost lines the insides slots of a sewer grate in the morning. This is referred to as surface hoar, as the frost crystals grow out from an already cold surface.

2015 01 30 – Students walk along University Avenue in the morning after a few centimeters of snow fell during the night.

2015 01 31 – A family enjoys the excellent skating conditions on Horsey Bay as cold temperatures over the past two weeks have made Kingston’s coastline excellent for skating.

2015 02 01 – Bought a Tricolour Dairy Queen cake for the night’s Super Bowl Party and to celebrate the 11 students who have birthdays in February.
