Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2016 Week 32 Photos

2016 Week 32 Photographs
By Corey Lablans Photography
(10th Week, Year 4 – 1162 days – 1 missed)

2016 08 01 – Various fluids are tossed out from under the hood of a car during the 185th annual Napanee Fair demolition derby. The place was packed with every seat being occupied and numerous people sitting on the ground and standing.

(Nikon D7000 w 70-200 f2.8 @200mm f4 1/1250th I.S.O. 400)

2016 08 02 – A fluffy cumulus cloud floats above the Landmark Cinemas in Kingston off Dalton Avenue. A friend and I went to see the new Jason Bourne movie.

(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @20mm f8 1/1000th I.S.O. 200)

2016 08 03 – A player from the Sliding Plates Queen’s intramural baseball team goes for the ball during the last game of the season. Unfortunately the game didn’t end in our favour but it was a good season.

(Nikon D300 w 70-200 f2.8 @86mm f3.2 1/2500th I.S.O. 640)

2016 08 04 – A Great Blue Heron (Andea herodias) soars through the sky above Kingston Mills. Females look very similar to the males but are slightly smaller. Their feathers become brighter during mating season and duller in the winter.

(Nikon D300 w 70-200 f2.8 @200mm f3.2 1/8000th I.S.O. 400)

2016 08 05 – Billowing cumulus clouds fill the sky above Ajax as a band of thunderstorms roll through in the evening.

(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @28mm f8 1/2500th I.S.O. 160)

2016 08 06 – Painted human models pose as Greek sculptures during the Taste of the Danforth in Toronto. In its 23rd year approximately 1.6 million attended the three-day festival celebrating Greek culture.

(Nikon D300 w 70-200 f2.8 @120mm f8 1/500th I.S.O. 200)

2016 08 07 – Various conveyer belts at the James Dick Quarry in Gamebridge, Ontario are shut down during the weekend, a good time for us to go in and search for fossils. The lowest layer of the quarry contains some well-preserved crinoids.

(Nikon D7000 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f4 1/4000th I.S.O. 200)
