2016 07 11 – Mitch of the Dirty Ores Queen’s intramural soccer team moves forward with the ball as a player from Backside Attack tries to kick it away. We lost 6-0 with one more game to go in the summer season.

2016 07 12 – Myself watering a pepper plant that we have on our front porch. This year my dad planted several tomato and pepper plants in pots. They seem to be doing better then the ones in the back garden.

2016 07 13 – Ryan pitches during a Queen’s intramural softball game at City Park. We did not do so great loosing 16-1.

2016 07 15 – A gentleman stands beside his tractor at the 181^st annual Odessa Agricultural Fair prior to the tractor pull.

2016 07 16 – A group of geological enthusiasts listen to Peter LeBaron, the District Geologist for Southern Ontario Tweed, talk about the geological setting of the Ore Chimney Mine. The mine was in operation in the early 1900’s and it is a gold-silver-copper-lead-zinc bearing quartz vein system.

2016 07 17 – Barb and Derek dig through the soil at a new calcite vein exposed by the Walker Mineralogical Club at the Miller’s Property, Lake Clear. Each year the club gets an excavator in to expose new areas. Numerous apatite crystals were pulled out from an opening near Derek.

2016 07 04 – A new sign commemorating the 175^th anniversary of Queen’s University stands out in the flower bed in front of the John Deutsch University Centre. It was built at the beginning of the summer.

2016 07 05 – A kiteboarder uses his kite to drag himself through the water to reach his board after loosing it during a trick.

2016 07 06 – A group heads off into the setting sun on an Ahoy Rentals evening sailing charter. The boat is a 24-foot sloop, a word given to sailboats with a single headsail.

2016 07 07 – Mighty Mike performs to a crowd on Ontario Street during the 28^th annual Kingston Buskers Rendezvous. New to the lineup this year, his final act involved juggling a sludge hammer and knives.

2016 07 08 – Chantal performs “A Tension” on Princess Street during the 28^th annual Kingston Buskers Rendezvous. New to the festival this year she comes from Montreal.

2016 07 09 – A girl holds onto a large stuffed unicorn that she got from the midway while attending the 32^nd annual Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival.

2016 07 10 – A girl grabs a surprise bag while having fun at one of the carnival games at the 32^nd annual Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival. The festival offered a wide variety of activities, live entertainment and food.

2016 06 27 – Emily kayaks along the shoreline of Lake Ontario near downtown Kingston. We rented kayaks from Ahoy Rentals off Ontario Street.

2016 06 28 – A lady and her dog make their way along the shoreline of Breakwater Park in Kingston. The park was named after the breakwater that runs parallel to the recreational pathway.

2016 06 29 – Mike is about to connect with the softball during a Queen’s intramural baseball game at City Park.

2016 06 30 – The Riq Turner Band performs at the Gananoque Rib Fest. The band members are Riq Turner (lead vocals), Tyler MacDonald (lead guitar), Andy Bowes (bass guitar) and Graham “Shiny” Brown (Drums).

2016 07 01 – A person celebrates Canada Day in Confederation Park. Several hundred people dawned the red and white colours to celebrate and partake in this year’s red and white parade.

2016 07 02 – Bethany, Logan and Nina watch fireworks light up the night sky in Bath, Ontario. The fireworks were intended for Canada Day but heavy winds resulted in postponement.

2016 07 03 – Various people examine sterling silver trinkets and kitchen utensils while attending the 5^th annual ArtFest Kingston in City Park. The festival offered over 150 vendors with craftwork in pottery, painting, jewelry and more.

2016 06 20 – A member of the Kingston kiteboarders performs a trick off Break Water Park along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. The first patent for KiteSurfing was in 1977 in the Netherlands.

2016 06 21 – Long shadows are cast across a cornfield as the sunsets near Sunbury, Ontario. Cow corn is harder then sweet corn, as sugars are converted to starch with later harvesting.

2016 06 22 – Greg, a member of the Sliding Plates intramural baseball team, smiles prior to a game at City Park in Kingston. We ended up wining the game by one run in the last inning.

2016 06 23 – A Landmark Sunrise Rose (Latana camara) grows in a pot on our front porch. These flowers are hardy being able to tolerate higher temperatures and drought.

2016 06 24 – Principal Woolf address staff, faculty and students during the annual Queen’s University summer barbeque at Ban Righ dining hall.

2016 06 25 – Members of the Montreal Gem and Mineral Club sort through soil being dug out of a dissolve calcite vein at the Lake Clear, Ontario. This is an excellent location to find apatite, orthoclase and titanite crystals.

2016 06 26 – A lady paddles along the shoreline of Golden Lake in the morning near Eganville, Ontario. The lake got its name from all the pyrite “fools gold” that is apparently in its sands.
