Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2014 04 07 – Apophyllite and stilbite on druzy quartz from Jalgaon, India. This specimen was acquired at the Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club show in October 2010, ever since I have bought a new one each year.

2014 04 08 – Dr. Meghan McFadden demonstrates how to determine the charality of an isomer (R or S) by using three fingers during the first day of CHEM112 CourseCram. Over 200 students attended the two-day exam preparation.

2014 04 09 – A few spring crocus are in full bloom on Aberdeen Street, as warmer temperatures finally melts away most of the snow in Kingston. The Genus Crocus is part of the Iridaceae family and can be found from sea level to alpine tundra.

2014 04 10 – Springer Market Square in downtown Kingston is stepping back in time, as it is transformed into a movie set based on the early 1900’s. Guillermo del Toro is directing this gothic horror film that is scheduled to release next year.

2014 04 11 – Members of the Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club examine various minerals, fossils and jewelry at the annual auction. The club offers a wide array of activities from silversmithing to mineral/fossil field trips.

2014 04 12 – Making our way down a sand pile while exploring Wolfe Island. The island is 29km long and 9km across at its widest.

2014 04 13 – Crew work on the finishing touches while turning downtown Kingston into the early 1900’s for tomorrow’s filming. According to IMDb the new horror movie “Crimson Peak,” is about a young author, Edith Cushing, who discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.
