Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2015 11 23 – Students make their way towards the entrance of Theological Hall near Summer Hill at Queen’s University. On November 3rd the Senate voted to close the Theology programs in the school of Religion.

2015 11 24 – Students make their way along a path at Queen’s University during a short snow shower. This is Kingston’s third snowfall of the year, non of them have produced any accumulation.

2015 11 25 – Students walk around a pile of leaves along 5th Field Company Lane. Workers spent the day blowing leaves into piles and loading them into a dump truck.

2015 11 26 – A squirrel searching for food at Summer Hills takes a moment and stairs at the camera. The oldest squirrel fossil dates back to the Eocene (40-35 million years ago).

2015 11 27 – McMaster Marauders #5, Carly Heath, digs the ball while taking on the Queen’s Gaels at the Athletics and Recreational Centre. McMaster maintained control of the game taking 3 straight sets to win 3-0.

2015 11 28 – McGill Redmen #18, Rock Regimbald advances forward with the puck while taking on the Queen’s Gaels at the Memorial Centre. McGill scored with 50 second remaining in the third period to win 3 to 2.

2015 11 29 – Large Christmas bulbs and lights decorate the front entrance to our house. My dad put up the decorations a few days ago.

2015 11 16 – A Queen’s University student titrates a sodium hydroxide sample with hydrogen chloride during our last geography 317 lab. An error occurred in the reagent, messing up the titration.

2015 11 17 – A box containing a bottle of Robitussin in the hopes that it will help fight off my cold. Produced now by Pfizer, it was originally invented in the 1980’s in Richmond, Virginia.

2015 11 18 – Students enrolled in History of Life examine a board discussing various elements pertaining to dinosaur eggs during lab. Students had to discuss what distinguishes eggs from concretions.

2015 11 19 – Students look over various minerals, fossils and figures during the 19th annual Gem and Mineral sale at the Miller Museum. The three-day event helps raise money for the museum.

2015 11 20 – Windsor Lancers’ #26, Jillian Rops goes for the puck while Queen’s Gaels’ #14, Taryn Pilon follows closely beside during an OUA game at the Memorial Centre. The game ended with Queen’s winning 4 to 1.

2015 11 21 – Niki Slikboer (10) and Caroline Livingston (11) of the Queen’s Gaels jump to make a block during an OUA women’s volleyball game against the Guelph Gryphons at the Athletics and Recreational Centre. After Queen’s lost the first set they came back to win the next three ending 3-1.

2015 11 09 – Like the fading sun, a lone ginkgo leaf is silhouette against the sky. Native to China it was brought to North America in the 18th century.

2015 11 11 – Military centenary stand on guard during the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cross of Sacrifice in Kingston, Ontario. The cenotaph was erected in 1925 in commemoration for those from Kingston who lost their lives for peaceful world.

2015 11 02 – A student mixes glucose (C612O6) into water during lab 4, which will then be added to soil.  This solution acts as a food source promoting cellular activity, increasing CO2 production allowing for the measurement of bioproductivity.

2015 11 03 – Students from Waldron Tower strike a pose during their High Table dinner at Ban Righ. A High Table is an event for first year students, intended to broaden their thinking by having a non-students speaker talk about their life experiences.

2015 11 04 – Two students sit along the shore of Lake Ontario while another stands on a rock as the sun sets. Unusually warm November weather made for a wonderful day with temperatures around 18 degrees Celsius.

2015 11 05 – A St. Francis Xavier women’s rugby player is tackled by an uOttawa Gee-Gees player during Thursday’s quarter-final CIS game at Queen’s University. The Gee-Gees defeated St.FX 29 to 7. The uOttawa Gee-Gees name comes from a shortening of their past team name Grenat et Gris (Garnet and Grey, their colours) to GGs. Eventually it switched to Gee-Gees, which is a phrase used for the first hoarse out of a gate.

2015 11 06 – Students in Geology of North America examine drill core samples from the Oil Sands region of Alberta. The lower part of the core contains reef-bearing carbonates formed during the Jurassic, while the upper half contains is a fluvial channel siliclastics from the cretaceous.

2015 11 07 – A McMaster Marauders women’s rugby player holds onto the ball while being tackled by a uOttawa Gee-Gees player during the Semi-final CIS game. The Marauders defeated the Gee-Gees 14 to 8, eventually caring on to win the CIS championship against Queen’s University.
