Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2015 03 16 – Queen’s geological sciences and engineering students enjoy pizza prior to the Miller Club elections. Miller Club executives organize events, socials and act as student representatives.

2015 03 17 – Javad creates a circle of sparks, by spinning steel wool set on fire, during chaharshanbe soori fire jumping festival. The festival is celebrated on the last Tuesday of the Iranian year. Leaping over the fire represents getting rid of the bad and starting a fresh New Year.

2015 03 18 – Geochemistry students get ready to prepare a synthetic mineral sample for X-ray diffraction (XRD). The process involves firing x-rays at an unknown mineral sample producing diffraction angles that correspond to specific minerals.

2015 03 19 – Dancers are silhouetted against a backdrop while performing in the Queen’s Dance Club’s year-end recital at Duncan McArthur Auditorium. The Queen’s Dance Club offers a wide array of classes covering numerous dance styles.

2015 03 20 – A Queen’s student gets ready to silkscreen print a pattern onto a t-shirt while at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre. This form of art dates back to 960-1279 CE in China when a form of this printmaking was first practiced.

2015 03 21 – A gentleman finishes an interpretive dance at the Tett Centre while celebrating indigenous art, culture and performance. The dance illustrates the bond between land and air, eagle and salmon.

2015 03 22 – Snow is still present in ditches and through cornrows, as seen at this barn east of Deseronto, Ontario.
