Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

(7th week, Year 2 - 413 days)
2014 07 14 – A large section of the old Nortel (Northern Telecom) plant off Gardiners Road in Kingston is currently under demolition. Nortel was founded in Montreal, Quebec back in 1895.

2014 07 15 – A beautiful apatite crystal that I pulled out of a vug at the Schickler Fluorite Mine in Wilberforce while leading a mineral collecting tour. Probably one of the nicest ones I have seen pulled out. Apatite’s main use is for its phosphate to use in fertilizer.

2014 07 18 – Two girls build a sand castle at Candos Beach in North Kawartha east of Apsley on highway 620. It is a nice clean beach with shallow water, equipped with change rooms and outhouses.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @30mm f5 1/1250th I.S.O. 400)

2014 07 19 – A boy looks for minerals at the CN Rock Pile in Bancroft during a Bancroft & District Chamber of Commerce mineral collecting tour. The material at the CN Rock Pile comes from the Goulding-Keene Quarry.
(Nikon D300 w 50mm f1.8 @50mm f4 1/1600th I.S.O. 200)

2014 07 20 – People walk through the weekly antique market at Spring Market Square in Kingston. The word antique comes from the Latin word “ante” meaning before and then “antiquus” meaning former or ancient.
