Photography is the documentation of life, once that shutter has clicked, the moment has passed and history is made. Some may be familiar with project 365, a simple concept, take a photograph everyday for 365 days. This blog is an extension of the project; the goal is to keep photographing every day, who knows how long? It is an excellent archive to look back on, see how things change. Change can be subtle, such as different coloured flowers being planted each year to a changing landscape with buildings being demolished and new ones built. This blog archives life’s diversity and my encounters.

2014 Week 24 Photos
By Corey Lablans Photography

The second week of the second year photographing daily.
(378 Photos / 378 Days)

2014 06 09 – This is a specimen collected on Sunday containing many nice feldspar crystals from the Bear Lake property near Tory Hill, Ontario. The property was originally prospected in the early 1950’s for uranium. (A permit is required to collect.)

2014 06 10 – A nice set of marinated steaks cooked on a frying pan, along with potatoes and coleslaw made for an excellent dinner.
(Nikon D300 w 17-35 f2.8 @35mm f8 1sec. I.S.O. 200)

2014 06 11 – Workers from Fleming College guide the roof on top of the new sustainable youth enterprise centre at Riverside Park in Bancroft. This is part of the Sustainable Building Design and Construction course based out of Haliburton.

2014 06 12 – Chris Scime hikes through a marshy wood section of forest north of Bear Lake Diggings near Tory Hill, Ontario while out doing some geology assessment work. A night of rain and humid conditions left the forest damp, we were both soaked by the end of our day.

2014 06 13 – Another exciting day hiking through thick brush, marshlands and a wide array of forest types while doing assessment work near Tory Hill, Ontario. Here Chris and I came to a relative clear area along the edge of a lake. The breeze kept down the mosquitoes for a brief moment.

2014 06 14 – Carly from the Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization, along with two girls as part of a family tour dig through the soil at Bear Lake Diggings looking for crystals. Carly writes, photographs and takes video for a blog called Ohletsgo.ca, as she embarks on adventures throughout Ontario’s Highlands.

2014 06 15 – A beautiful view of Lake Kamaniskeg from the lookout off highway 62. This beautiful vista was the subject of many Group of Seven paintings such as the “Kamaniskeg Lake Summer,” by A. J. Casson.
