2014 Week 02 Photos
(32nd Week Photographing Daily)
By Corey Lablans Photography
This past week had no goal, no theme, so it ended up being a mix of whatever happened. The weather dominated at the beginning and sports took over, enjoy.

2014 01 06 – A student walks along a path beside Miller Hall
at Queen’s University as a truck spreads salt and sand getting ready for
tonight’s flash freeze. Temperatures are going from 1 degC this morning to -15
degC tonight, feeling more like -27 with wind-chill. (Nikon D7000 w 55mm Macro

2014 01 07 – Freezing temperatures and high winds have left
Lake Ontario looking like the surface of shattered glass. Freezing temperatures
were the result of the polar vortex shifting southwards, a cold-low pressure
systems lies above the North Pole. (Nikon D300 w 50 f1.8 @50mm f8 1/2000th

2014 01 08 – An eastern grey squirrel peers out of a garbage
can at Queen’s University. Their adaptive nature and introduction to the UK has
lead to the displacement of the native red squirrel in many areas. (Nikon D300 w

2014 01 09 – Students skate on Tindall Field at Queen’s
University, an artificial turf that soccer is usually played on. After a week
of cold temperature, followed by warm temperatures and then a sudden deep freeze,
the surface of practically any field has become a skating rink. (Nikon D300 w

2014 01 10 – Queen’s Gaels #16, Kelly Jackson, gets a hold
