This is week 52_2 because I started 2016 week 1  on what should have been 2015 week 53 putting my weeks one week out.

2016 12 26 – My 13 year old Colombian Rainbow Boa (Epicrates maurus), named Shimmer, peers out of his wood den.

2016 12 27 – Developing 35mm film these days is more difficult but machines like this one can process C-41 film. Camera Kingston use to process slide film, now it is sent to Montreal.

2016 12 28 – Mom prepared a lovely Christmas dinner: a delicious roast beef, Yorkshire puddings and a wide variety of vegetables.

2016 12 29 – Fresh snow covers everything along the trail walking into the Owl Woods on Amherst Island. The snow turned to rain in the afternoon.

2016 12 30 – A funky looking blob of ice sits on top of some ice at the Confederation Basin Marina in downtown Kingston.

2016 12 31 – Screaming humans occupy numerous “properties” while playing Zombie Opoly, a zombie variation of Monopoly. Instead of houses and hotels you buy boxes of flesh and screaming humans.

2017 01 01 – My cousin’s dog, Autumn, makes an interesting expression. Autumn is a Siberian Husky, a part of the genetic family of dogs known as Spitz.

2016 12 19 – Ice covers a hydrometer outside of an apartment building in downtown Kingston. Hydro has been a debated subject in the news lately because of the Provincial government’s plan to privatize it and increase hydro rates.

2016 12 20 – Rolls of developed film hang and await printing at Camera Kingston. Film isn’t as widely used as it use to be but several rolls come in on a weekly basis.

2016 12 21 – A photograph of me wrapping a present for a friend, the first present I have wrapped this year.

2016 12 22 – A Nikon D90 sits on the used shelf at Camera Kingston. This 12.9 megapixel camera was release in 2008, 9 years after Nikon’s first DSLR, the D1, a 2.74-megapixel camera in 1999.

2016 12 23 – A new 3 terabyte LaCie hard drive sits on my desk awaiting the New Year. My third hard drive is almost filled; in the past 10 years I have taken almost a half a million photographs.

2016 12 24 – Family members sit around the dinner table on Christmas Eve. My aunt made an amazing bone-in ham with a cranberry glaze.

2016 12 25 – My cousins unwrap presents first thing Christmas morning. The present that is currently being opened is a hand drawing of Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

2016 12 12 – Water splashes along the Brisas del Caribe resort shoreline north of Varadero, Cuba. Varadero is a tourist resort town with over 20 kilometers of beachfront stretching the length of the Hicacos Peninsula.

2016 12 13 – A couple of friends stand amongst pink festive trees at the Distillery District in downtown Toronto.

2016 12 14 – People make their way across Wellington Street in downtown Kingston as construction is underway on a new Bank of Nova Scotia branch.

2016 12 15 – A PVC figurine of Celia Cumani Aintree, an anime character from the Japanese adult visual novel Walkure Romanze: Shojo Kishi Monogatari (Valkyrie Romance: Girl Knight Story). She is a top jouster at her school.

2016 12 16 – Construction crew take down scaffolding outside of a building at the corner of Wellington Street and Brock Street in downtown Kingston.

2016 12 17 – A pile of gifts on a table at Doug’s house await the start of the night’s gift exchange game. People draw a gift, if they want, they can keep the gift or steel another person’s gift. This continues until the last gift is opened.

2016 12 05 – A family looks out a window at the Toronto Pearson International Airport while waiting for their flight. In 2015 41 million passengers passed through Pearson airport.

2016 12 06 – A catamaran makes its way out into the beautiful crystal waters along the Brisas del Caribe shoreline in Varadero, Cuba. The world’s largest catamaran is called the Hemisphere, stretching 145 feet.

2016 12 07 – Cubans go about their daily lives along a back street in Matanzas, a city west of Varadero, Cuba. The city’s name comes from the “massacre” of 30 Spanish soldiers in the 1600’s. It is also known as the “Venice of Cuba” because of its numerous bridges and rivers.

2016 12 08 – The pool sparkles in the sunlight while palm trees line the background at the Brisas del Caribe resort in Varadero, Cuba. It was a fun time going to a resort for the first time, the grounds were gorgeous, the food was ok and the beach was stunning.

2016 12 09 – A worker at the crocodile farm in Guama,Cuba pockets a five month crocodile. The Cuban Crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) is the smallest and most terrestrial of extant crocodiles. It is listed as critically endangered.

2016 12 10 – A couple make their way along the Brisas del Caribe resort shoreline north of Varadero, Cuba as the setting sun paints the sky a beautiful red. The resort in the background is the Naviti Beach Club.

2016 12 11 – Cubans make their way through a street of old downtown Havana (La Habana). The city of Havana was established in 1515 and is now home to approximately 2.1 million of Cuba’s 11.27 million inhabitants.
