Driving to Bancroft this summer I came across this deer standing along the side of the road. First saw it as it dodged a truck. It did not seem concerned when I got out of the car and started photographing.

Driving around one day south of Highway 401 near Napanee came across these fun and interesting looking  cattle, Highland Cattle.

Today's stormy weather changed the course of the annual triathlon. Do to the high winds the swimming portion was canceled and incoming storms brought heavy rain on the bikers as they made their way in.

Last weekend thousands of people were entertained by the annual street performers at the 24th Kingston Buskers Rendezvous. More then 20 performers took to the streets and Springer Market Square entertaining the crowd with everything from juggling to aerobatic performances and more. Here are a few photos from the Saturday evening's performances.

Puppet Tamer of Cambridge has some fun entertaining a crowd of about 200 Saturday evening in front of City Hall. This was one of my favourite acts as it was very entertaining and captivating. 

The Funny Waiter Show from Toronto entertains the crowd on Saturday evening.

Ebony Jewelwing

The ebony jewelwing is found along wooded rivers and it is a broad-winged damselfly. This particular one was up at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area near Peterborough. Along the trails at the conservation area there is a location called the Ebony Jewelwing pond and they are always flying around.

Bath Canada Day Fireworks

Fireworks are always fascinating to photograph. When photographing lightning it is easy to capture the beautiful colours but to capture the scenery is what makes it fascinating and difficult. As you can see by these photos, the scenery isn't really that present, so I didn't do that excellent of a job.

I have been able to get some very nice firework photos in the past. Last year working for The Kingston Whig-Standard I needed to photograph in Kingston, do to the rush for filling afterwards but I enjoy the Bath Canada Day fireworks.

 Photographing Marsh Fire

Always have a camera on hand, that is typically a motto that I like to adhere to but there are always those times when you don’t. Today was one of those days; driving back from downtown I saw a billowing cloud of smoke and no camera on hand. Arriving at the location, it was a marsh fire behind the Ambassador Hotel off Princess Street. Photographically this type of fire provides sufficient time due to the limited capability of being able to prevent such a fire from spreading. After driving home, I was able to get back out and photograph the blazing marsh. I’m not a fan of standing along the sidelines watching, that is why I had to find a way out onto the marsh. If you are going to photograph any fire, respect the fire fighter’s boundaries and don’t be a hindrance.
