2018 08 13 – The Saint Lawrence II makes its way back to the harbour in Kingston, Ontario. The 72-foot brigantine was designed in 1952 for the purpose of youth sail training.

2018 08 14 – A river hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibious) brings its head out of the water slightly on this warm august day while at the African Savanna portion of the Toronto Zoo.

2018 08 15 – Cars make their way along Bath Road during an intense rainstorm in Kingston, Ontario. In some places the water was right up to the top of the roadside curve.

2018 08 16 – Costume characters from Smallfoot, a Warner Bros’ animated film, perform along Toronto’s waterfront for YTV. Smallfoot hits the theaters at the end of September.

2018 08 17 – A barge makes its way through the last lock of the Trent Severn waterway in Port Severn, Ontario. This is also the smallest of the locks along the 386-kilometer waterway.

2018 08 18 – Fireworks light up the night sky above Terrace Bay during their annual Lighthouse festival. Strontium (Sr) is what gives fireworks their red colour and copper (Cu) gives them their blue colour.

2018 08 19 – A white tailed deer (Odocoieus virginianus) with fresh antlers watches as we pull off to the side of the road on Mission Island in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

2018 08 06 – A view of Shediac from a Bombardier Q400, as I make my way to Moncton, New Brunswick to meet up with my parents on vacation.

2018 08 07 – Kaya enjoys the beautiful day along the beach at Pointe-du-Chene, New Brunswick. A good storm whipped through the area earlier in the morning.

2018 08 08 – Herring are spiked on top of each other inside a lobster trap ready to be deployed the next morning as lobster season begins in the region.

2018 08 09 – Lobster fisherman get ready to set off in the pouring rain as the region’s lobster season begin. The season in Cap Pele runs from August 9^th to October 10^th.

2018 08 10 – The beautiful scenic view of French River, Prince Edward Island, “Where the farm meets the tide.”

2018 07 30 – Crepuscular rays shine out from behind billowing cumulus clouds in Blackhawk, Ontario.

2018 07 31 – Trays are made up for collecting rock fragments. These fragments are used to make a crude geological map of the blast patterns.

2018 08 01 – The Mackinac Bridge stands out at night. Built in 1957, it is the fifth largest suspension bridge in the world.

2018 08 02 – A view of me driving along highway 401 near Bowmanville, Ontario as I finish up the last leg of my road trip home (Fort Frances, Ontario to Kingston, Ontario).

2018 08 03 – Adriane, Johnathan and I head north on highway 62 from Coehill to Bancroft for dinner at the South Algonquin.

2018 08 04 – People examine mineral specimens while at the 56^th annual Rockhound Gemobree in Bancroft, Ontario.

2018 08 05 – A couple make their way through the fountain at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto, while many others in the background enjoy the Toronto sign. There were many people at the square celebrating the weekend’s Indian Festival.

2018 07 23 – It is a beautiful evening in International Falls.  I cross over Monday nights to play Cribbage at the Elk.

2018 07 24 – I’m preparing some vegetables to make a vegetable medley. A mix of potatoes, onions and Brussels sprouts mixed with oil, salt and pepper, and then cooked in the oven for 40 minutes.

2018 07 25 – There is a lot of overburden at the mine that needs to be removed to expose the rich silver and gold rock below.

2018 07 26 – A haul truck makes its way down the main ramp.

2018 07 27 – The setting sun reflects off Caliper Lake in Nester Falls, Ontario. The engineering department booked the group campsite at the provincial park for the weekend.
