2016 03 21 – A biology 202 students opens up a rat’s throat exposing the sublingual glands. These glands are important in the production of saliva.

2016 03 22 – The bucket of a Kubota KX080-3 rests on a trailer along George Street.

2016 03 23 – A jogger runs along the Rideau Trail near Murney Tower on an overcast day. In the background many rock statues line the top of the revetment.

2016 03 24 – People walk along University Avenue as snow and ice covers the ground during a little spring freezing rain.

2016 03 25 – A “Happy Easter” DQ ice cream cake for a family Easter dinner. The egg symbolizes many things, one such symbol is new life, associated with pagan festival celebrating spring.

2016 03 26 – Unopened purple crocus brighten up the garden in front of a house off St. Lawrence Avenue. Anthocyanins are what give purple flower their colour, along with red, pink and blue flowers.

2016 03 14 – Numerous pairs of hands cover a dissected pigeon, as one person tries to tear out the sternum. The sternum is modified breastbone acting as the main attachment for flight muscles.

2016 03 15 – A silhouette of hydro and telephone lines behind Botterel Hall, Queen’s University.

2016 03 16 – A cockatiel hides amongst a tree at Breakwater Park in Kingston, Ontario; native to Australia.  This was someone’s pet that escaped. After taking it to the humane society, the owner was reunited.

2016 03 17 – Students from Queen’s University celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Aberdeen Street. The original colour of St. Patrick is blue, after the blue vestment he wore.

2016 03 18 – My earth ring sits on top of a sapphire sample provided by Brad Wilson, one of the many mineral samples being studied in GEOL452. The earth ring is similar to the iron ring, a symbol and reminder for those in geology to conduct ethical practices.

2016 03 20 – A pigeon walks along the Murney Tower moat wall. Some pigeons are trained for racing and can reach top speeds of 140 km/h.

2016 03 07 – People make their way along Level 500 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre south building during PDAC. The convention is the largest mining convention in the world attracting approximately 30,000 individuals.

2016 03 08 – Various Queen’s University staff, students and alumni listen to a speaker during the annual Queen’s event on Tuesday night during the PDAC Convention in Toronto.

2016 03 09 – A gentleman makes his way down the stairs to the TTC Osgoode station. The station was opened in 1963 and is part of the Younge-University line in Toronto, Ontario.

2016 02 29 – Male perch gonads sit outside of its body during a BIOL 202, Diversity of Life, dissection.

2016 03 01 – A thin section from a peridotite xenolith is about to go into the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Chemical compositions can be determined by element excitation by x-rays.

2016 03 02 – Ice is thrust up as it presses up against other ice several meters off the shoreline of Breakwater Park.
