Smoke Causes Family to Turn Back Boat

Kingston Fire and Rescue inspect a motorboat that had smoke coming out from underneath the steering wheel at the Kingston Marina Friday, July 1st afternoon. Ted Kanellos, the owner of the boat said they were headed out on their first run of the summer when smoke started coming out from under the steering wheel. The first thing that went through his mind was getting his kid and wife safe. “Originally we thought it was electrical but we believe it may have come from the engine,” Kanellos said. Ron Timlin, Acting Captain commented on the pathway of the smoke, saying that he believes it came through drainage pipes and out from the steering wheel. Extent of the damages are unknown at this point but the boat is being toed in and being looked at.

Nicole Armstrong rounds the corner at Ontario Street and Market Street, about the halfway point, during the 2011 Limestone Mile Friday morning downtown. The high school girls division mixed with the women’s division and Armstrong came in second with a time of 5:27.7.

Right: Norah and Lauren leap off the shoreline at the water purification plant off King Street West Tuesday as nice temperatures and sunset made for an enjoyable evening. Both said the water was nice and warm. Kingston avoided the forecasted thunderstorms that went north and south.

Katy Perry Releases New Perfume

Thursday, June 30^th I decided to visit my aunt in Toronto. Had no idea what we were going to do for the day, so both of us jump on the TTC and headed downtown. I rarely visit Toronto, so everything is new to me. After lunch we headed to Dundas square. Being a photograph I always have my camera with me and notice a crowd gathering. Asking a few security guards what was going on I found out Katy Perry was there making an appearance as she was there releasing her new perfume “Purr.” Always good to be prepared when heading out to explore!!
